Momento Mori 2 (Tulip)

As a garden photographer, and for this exhibition, Vicki Gardener will exhibit a more literal interpretation of the Eden theme: evoking a sense of peace, harmony and immersion in natural and cultivated beauty. Vicki will share a range of personal realisations of Eden through her images, taken using both her digital and pinhole cameras.

 

She captures landscapes and through her more abstract, macro work, draws us in to focus attention on the intricate and often overlooked details of gardens. Her mindfulness work also influences her photography and she is interested in the link between mental health, nature, mindfulness, meditation and gardens.

Vicki was a Finalist in the Royal Photographic Society sponsored Portfolio category in the 2021 International Garden Photographer of the Year competition and has also been awarded 3 Honourable Mentions in the International Monochrome Awards. She has also achieved Licentiate with the Royal Photographic Society and is working towards her Associate. She has gained Qualified status with the Guild of Professional Photographers and has also been awarded two Bronze awards by the Guild as well as other awards in previous years. She is Garden Photographer at the Italian Garden of Great Ambrook and supplies leading photo libraries.
 

Image from a series of studies of the forms, textures and colours of petals from flowers as they wither and die. Creative inspiration came from the vast array of flowers gifted and left after bereavements in our family. Studio setting. Digital image.
