Sue Farquharson

 I studied at the Michaelis School of Art, part of the University of Cape Town, and subsequently worked in Interior Design after moving to London, creating atmospheric interiors in Restaurants and Wine Bars, sometimes using my own original artwork. 

Collage has become a favourite medium in the last few years, I am always excited by the complex textures, colours, patterns and text obtained from newspaper and magazine text and photos - an effect which is impossible to achieve using other media. It is particularly satisfying when random snippets of text turn out to be apt for the subject, and then become part of the work's narrative.
