President’s Symposium, May 2024 Colour and Form: Unique Insights into Devon’s Art and Practice

Jenny Pery is the 2023-24 President of The Devonshire Association and will be hosting the symposium on Saturday 11th May 2024 at Petroc College, Tiverton.

The Symposium will focus on Visual Art, perhaps the most inspiring and civilising aspect of all the arts. We will explore the world of Colour, focusing on the origin of pigments followed by the work of two exceptional Devon painters.

We will then examine Form in the work of one of Devon’s foremost wood engravers, and the many essential products made from ball clay by Devon’s leading clay company.

Finally, two acclaimed exhibition designers will discuss how art may be presented to the public in the most lucid and eye-catching way.

The Symposium will be held at Petroc College, Mid Devon Campus, Bolham Road, Tiverton EX16 6SH on Saturday 11 May 2024.

Free parking. Travel instructions will be sent with booking acknowledgement.

Tickets for members of the DA are £30 per person. Non-members are welcome at £40 (and a £10 refund will be available to all who join the DA within a month of the Symposium).

Morning coffee, buffet lunch and afternoon tea are included.
