Artizan Printmakers Open Season - Winter
Hosted in our sunny Courtyard Gallery our Artizan Printmakers Open Season is the first of a series of quarterly exhibitions that we shall be hosting over the next twelve months where we will be looking to show a broad range of printmaking practice to highlight the diversity of this medium. These exhibitions will from part of our transitioning the whole gallery at Lucius Street to become a dedicated, Printmaking and Sculpture Gallery, our newest venture, as we move our vibrant Riviera space that audiences have known for a decade, into a new regional specialism. Our seasonal opens will sit alongside a series of solo shows in the front gallery with each space also featuring specially selected 3D works. and will also see us developing our basement gallery into an open access print studio to allow for workshops and artist residencies. Joining us for the first of our seasonal opens will be Elizabeth Hall, Rebecca Thomas, Rosie Burns, Sharon Bruster, Judith Langlois, along with selected works of Arthur Homeshaw RWA from our permanent collection. The gallery will be open Thursday – Saturdays 10 am – 5 pm with some additional days during the period. Please contact the gallery if you are looking to visit outside our normal opening hours. Rosie is inspired by light and life, her work can be broadly split into two - the figure and the landscape, although fleeting encounters with a scene or scenario also generates work Rosie produces. Helicoidal pattern within composition connect a lot of her work - the spiralling form of the universe, DNA, shells, surf, clouds, can be found in a lot of her work.
