Experience the magic of Delamore Arts through a new lens. For over two decades, the opening of the Delamore Estate has marked the start of the summer arts season in the South West. In 2026, we are delighted to launch this year’s exhibition with a special three-day celebration of open-air creativity: Plein Air at Delamore. Running exclusively on the opening weekend, this event invites visitors to explore the celebrated sculpture gardens and galleries while witnessing art being created live within the landscape. From the quiet observation of professional painters to family-friendly creativity and a high-stakes competition, the weekend offers a unique way to engage with the beauty of the Estate. Whether you are an aspiring artist or simply an art lover, join us to See Delamore Differently. The Weekend Programme Saturday May 2nd Delamore Live: Artists in Action As the 2026 exhibition opens its doors, discover a series of professional artists stationed across the grounds. Watch as they capture the changing light on the House, the vibrancy of the Rhododendrons, and the geometry of the Sculpture Trail in real-time. A perfect, relaxed atmosphere for enjoying the galleries and grounds. Sunday, May 3rd: Delamore Creates: Bring a Brush and Have a Go, a day for everyone to get involved. Our commissioned artists return to deliver demonstrations and workshops, but the lawns are open to you, too. We invite families and enthusiasts of all abilities to bring a sketchbook or easel and capture their own view of Delamore. Free art packs will be available for children (subject to availability) to ensure even our youngest visitors can get creative. Monday, May 4th: The Delamore Open: The Open Air Art Competition The weekend culminates in a spirited competition. Artists working in any medium - from oils and watercolours to digital art and urban sketching - will race against the clock to complete a masterpiece en plein air. Visitors can watch the works come together across the morning before a panel of guest judges awards prizes in the afternoon.
