Printmaking and Drawings
An Eye For Detail
During Devon Open Studios Ian will be opening his studio space, located at our gallery on Fleet Street, from where he has been working and developing his creative practice for about 3 years.
We first met Ian when he was awarded a bursary by us to take part in Devon Open Studios 2021, setting up a temporary studio space at our Lucius Street Gallery. We thoroughly enjoyed having Ian with us hence the offer to him to move into one of our studio spaces at Fleet Street.
Ian's main practice at this time was the creatin of lino prints. Today, in addition to the lino prints, Ian creates detailed mezzotint prints, and large scale pencil and charcoal drawings. His subjects include the wild, uncanny, and folkloric aspects of the moorlands and coastlines of Devon and Cornwall.
Ian has also recently become a member of the South West Academy.
We shall be hosting a launch event on Friday 6th September, 6 - 8 pm, and Ian's studio will be open daily throughout Devon Open Studios.
