Still Life in the Geopark: Live Painting Demonstration with James Murch
Spend an evening with Geopark Residency Artist James Murch in this intimate painting demo.
Join us for a special event with Geopark Artist in Residence James Murch, as part of the final exhibition showcase for the 2024/25 Geopark Artist Residency Programme, hosted at Artizan Collective Gallery during this year’s English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark Festival.
A celebrated open air painter and one of four artists commissioned for this innovative residency, James will present an informal live oil painting session in the gallery space, working from a still life of locally sourced flowers.
Audience members are welcome to attend as observers, gaining insight into James’ process and approach, or bring their own materials and paint along in this relaxed, informal session. Whether you're a practicing artist or simply interested in learning more about the creative processes that have responded to our internationally significant Geopark, this is a unique opportunity to meet the artist and engage with the work first-hand.
The event takes place within the final Geopark Residency Showcase, an exhibition that brings together the outcomes of a year-long programme exploring the heritage, biodiversity and unique geology of the Bay, featuring work by artists Gill Melling, Rachael Allain, Laura Segan, and James Murch.
Places are limited, booking essential.
