About the event
Join artist Bronwen Gwillim for a creative exploration of waste plastic as an inspiring material for jewellery making. This hands-on workshop is perfect for adults of all experience levels and offers a unique opportunity to transform discarded plastics into wearable art. Through short talks, practical demonstrations, and creative experimentation, Bronwen will guide you in crafting a finished piece—be it a brooch, necklace, earrings, or other small item.
The workshop covers essential techniques for cold-working and hot-working plastics, such as cutting, texturing, fusing, and laminating. Emphasizing safety, sustainability, and environmental awareness, this session will equip you with the skills and confidence to continue working with waste materials in your own practice.
Event Schedule
Introduction to plastic types, safety considerations, and initial design planning. Participants begin identifying and cutting plastic shapes.
