Cocktails and Conversation
March 7th // 18:30-20:30
Join us for a networking event without the early start! Artizan Gallery welcomes you to the 2018 season of Cocktails and Conversation.
This year, we’ll be inviting you to exclusively preview our monthly exhibitions before they open to the public with bespoke cocktails prepared by the legendary local team from Panache, and in addition will be welcoming an exciting line up of speakers to deliver inspiring talks to benefit your businesses. Finally, we’ll wrap up each event with a cocktail demonstration from our talented mixologists!
Come and see what the event could offer your business, whilst enjoying Cocktails and Conversation!
About the Evening
Tickets include a welcome “Bubbles” Cocktail and drinks token for a second drink from the menu. Every month, we’ll have a new menu of four cocktails, all designed by our mixologists to complement the exhibition. We’ll be picking a different spirit each time and non-alcoholic options will also be available.
About our Speaker
Jim Parker joined the Herald Express in 1979 as a reporter, became Deputy Editor in 2006 and, having seen the transition of the paper from a daily to weekly publication in 2011, was made Editor in 2012. Following the launch of DevonLive.Com, Jim now also edits the Exeter Express and Echo, North Devon Journal and Mid Devon Gazette newspapers.
Jim, through his weekly column, has become widely known for his catch-phrase, ‘Only in Torbay’ in which he shares his observations and sometimes frustrations on the comings and goings of the good and the great in the Bay.
This evening he will be sharing his thoughts on his other passion, sport and its importance to the Bay, no doubt touching on the trials and tribulations of Torquay United, which is also at times not without controversy.
About the Exhibition
Recent arrivals to the South Devon area, distinguished artist, and husband and wife duo, Michael McDonagh Wood and Veronica Charlesworth, offer their first Devon exhibition since 2006, curating a selection of stunning watercolour works that the pair are internationally renowned for.
Both now work primarily in watercolours and acrylics, finding the mediums suits their respective focuses; for Veronica, this is capturing the natural world in vivid still life, floral works and landscape paintings, whilst for Michael, it is the capture of the fluid spaces where architecture and water meet in stunning Venice scenes that he has become widely known for.
Together and individually, they have exhibited extensively across the United Kingdom, Europe and the USA and supply galleries nationally with high quality, signed, limited edition prints. This exhibition offers the unique opportunity to view a curation of original works from both artists including a range of European and local scenes.
