About the event
Join ceramicist Lorraine Gilroy for a small group workshop creating conical coiled vessels inspired by her exhibition work. This session introduces essential hand building techniques including wedging clay, forming coils and carefully joining them to create smooth rhythmic forms.
Participants will work with a mix of commercial stoneware clay and optional foraged clay which adds unique surface colours to the finished piece. With a pre-made clay base provided to support your creation, Lorraine will guide you through each stage, ensuring your design comes to life.
The workshop provides a relaxed and supportive environment, ideal for clay beginners or those with some experience. You'll create a beautifully handbuilt vessel, (which can be fired for you to collect from Delamore later in the month) and gain more confidence in working with clay.
