About the event

// With guest speakers Leon Butler and Darren Cowell //

Join us for a networking event without the early start! Artizan Gallery welcomes you to the first of this years’ season of Cocktails and Conversation.

This year, we’ll be inviting you to enjoy an exclusive evening viewing of our monthly exhibitions with bespoke cocktails prepared by the legendary local team from Panache, and in addition will be welcoming an exciting line up of speakers to deliver inspiring talks.

Come and see what the event could offer your business, whilst enjoying Cocktails and Conversation!

// About the Evening //

A choice of ticket includes a welcome Cocktail or Mocktail from the menu. Every month, we’ll have a new menu of cocktails, all designed by our mixologists to compliment the exhibition. Additional drinks can then be purchased from the bar (Cocktails £4.50 Mocktails £2.50)

// About our Speakers Leon Butler and Darren Cowell //

Leon and Darren are both local businessmen. Leon is also the Chair of the Torquay Neighbourhood Forum and, Darren, a former ward councillor, now Chairs the Torbay Community Partnership Charity and is Vice-Chair of the Torquay Neighbourhood Forum. Between them they have a wealth of experience across many sectors.

By now some of you will have seen some information on a referendum to support Neighbourhood Plans for Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, but what’s it all about and what has it got to do with you and why does it have nothing to do with BREXIT!

The evening will provide an opportunity to hear from Leon and Darren, who have been working with businesses and residents to produce Torquay’s plan, to find out more and why these plans are relevant to all of us who live and work in the Bay.

If, like us, you love Torbay, then do come along to find out how the plans will give us all a voice to make Torbay a more prosperous and vibrant place to live and work.

// About the Exhibition//

Jeremy Diggle presents a selection of recent paintings and prints that represent current work from the studio in his exhibition, “I happen to be here”.

Jeremy has exhibited widely both at home and abroad and has featured in exhibitions at institutions such as the ICA, Tate Liverpool, The Arnolfini, The Royal Academy and Bloomberg Space. He has works held in private and public collections internationally including the V&A.

In this two-part exhibition, paintings and prints derive from his interests in the environment, geopolitics, pollution and technology. This current series offers an abstract exploration of colour composition, performance and time-based mark making in the context of mapping, measurement and observation, in relation to narratives of navigation, exploration and scientific enquiry.

The exhibition runs until 4th May and we are open 11 am – 6 pm weekdays 10 am – 6 pm Saturdays
