Delamore Artist
Lucy D'Auvergne
Lucy has explored other species professionally for over 30 years. She has been privileged to work with a diverse range of species from great apes to otters, and many domestic animals. Her inspiration as an artist lies in getting beneath the surface of an animal – understand what makes each one ‘tick’ as a unique being and capture something of their essence. Regardless of whether it's a domestic dog or a wild leopard, the individuality - the personality - of each subject is important to her. She creates limited editions and private commissions in cold-cast stone and metals and has developed her own unique method of patination using raw Earth pigments, which give her sculptures a soft, organic look and echo the subtle tonal qualities of fur. Lucy has recently been notified that she is a finalist in this years David Shepherd Foundation Wildlife Artist of the Year, 2025 with two of her pieces selected.
