Delamore Artist
Caroline Barker
Printmaking has been Caroline Barker’s obsession for the last 20 years. She creates linocuts, collagraphs, drypoints, and monoprints. Her artwork focuses on the local landscape of Devon and the creatures and plants that inhabit it. She hopes that her prints help jog the memories of familiar places around Devon and the birds and animals that live there. Her artwork has been displayed at the RWA in Bristol, Topsham, and Torre Abbey. She also regularly takes part in exhibitions at Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Totnes, and Dartington. Caroline makes small, handmade concertina books; some are pop-ups featuring linocut illustrations and calligraphy quotes, while others depict local beach and Dartmoor scenes. Tate Britain has stocked some of her cards. She has had her prints featured in six books by Alan Marshall showcasing the work of British printmakers, including the latest title, Beauty of the Beast, published at the end of 2022. In 2025, she was asked to design two book covers for Candlestick Press, a publisher of poetry books.
