Bethan Foulkes
Bethan Foulkes grew up next to the Hamble river near Southampton, spending much of her childhood and early adulthood on the water, exploring the south coast and all of itâs rivers. Following her lifelong passion for Wildlife, History and the representation of these in art, she took a foundation course in relief printmaking at Red Hot Press in Southampton, where she fell in love with linoprinting and dry point techniques. Bethan exhibited at Greyladyes Arts Foundation with a series of Lino prints . âTen Green Bottlesâ is a study of the old glass bottles that were found in the mud of the Hamble river and on shipwrecks in the Solent. Using the reduction technique she is interested in capturing the fluid beauty of glass, celebrating the imperfections created in their manufacture. Having moved to the River Dart in the summer of 2025, she has been inspired by the very different coastal landscape and the history of her new home.
