Sue Potter

Influenced by her background in both graphic design and architecture Sue’s printmaking explores, the complexity and simplicity of geometry; the counterpoint between flat colour and the embossed surface; the visual playfulness of pattern and repetition; the use of component elements to construct dynamic radiating compositions.

Recently she has been experimenting with cutting and folding the embossed surface to create an additional layer of texture and three dimensionality - captivated by the resulting, cast shadows that play across the surface.

Sue is currently tutoring at Plymouth University School of Architecture and runs printmaking workshops at MAKE Southwest.
