Simon Cryer
Simon Cryer is a designer and ceramicist working under the imprint Monographis from the Bath Artists’ Studios complex in Bath. His background in graphic design informs his ceramic practice, evident in his focus on minimal, sharp, and distinctive forms that celebrate the inherent beauty and materiality of porcelain. Simon’s work is characterized by a light-touch approach to glazing. He often applies subtle pops of colour or a simple white or clear gloss to the interiors of his pieces, creating a striking contrast with the matte, unglazed, and occasionally carved exteriors. This interplay of texture and form reflects his refined and modern aesthetic, merging design sensibility with the timeless appeal of handcrafted ceramics.

Artizan Collective is delighted to introduce The Kiln Room at Delamore Arts 2025, a new exhibition celebrating the dynamic possibilities of ceramics. Complementing the wider sculpture programme, this carefully curated showcase highlights functional and decorative ceramics, pots, vessels, and sculptural works in clay, along with a selection of supporting wall pieces. Ceramics has long been a medium where art meets utility, and The Kiln Room explores the intersection of tradition and innovation within this practice. From wheel-thrown and hand-built forms to experimental glazes and textures, the exhibition presents a diverse array of works that demonstrate the tactile beauty and narrative depth of clay.
