Finally, we’ll wrap up each event with a cocktail demonstration from our talented mixologists!

Come and see what the event could offer your business, whilst enjoying Cocktails and Conversation!

About the Evening

Tickets include a welcome “Bubbles” Cocktail and drinks token for a second drink from the menu. Every month, we’ll have a new menu of four cocktails, all designed by our mixologists to complement the exhibition. We’ll be picking a different spirit each time and non-alcoholic options will also be available.

About our Speaker

This month we welcome Kevin Foster, MP for Torbay as our guest speaker. Kevin was re-elected as the MP on 8th June 2017. A fairly momentous month for Kevin as two days later he married his now wife, Hazel.

Kevin joined the Conservative Party for the first time in 1995 and in the late 1990’s was involved with Torbay Young Conservatives. Having then worked for some years away from Devon, he returned in 2013 and was selected as the Conservative Candidate for Torbay going on to win the seat in May 2015.

In July 2017 following his re-election Kevin was promoted to become a Parliamentary Private Secretary at the Department of Communities and Local Government. Since then he has recently become the senior PPS at the Cabinet Office. This evening Kevin will be talking about this role, his work locally and on Government policy and how it funds the arts.

About the Exhibition

With an extensive background in design, Douglas Bardrick has held a long-standing international career in the arts, and additionally has played a part in developing some of the South West’s best-known arts spaces. Now retired, he paints from his home in Devon.

Influenced by the Suprematist works of Kazimir Malevich, abstract expressionist works of Richard Diebenkorn and works of Gerhard Richter, Bardrick produces abstract works with occasional movement towards geometric abstraction, experimenting with the movement of paint and pattern making.

In August, Douglas will bring a collection of his recent works to Artizan, following several successful 2017 exhibitions.
