Helena Park graduated in 2017 from Falmouth University with a BA Fine Art and has since pursued a career as an artist full-time, successfully exhibiting and selling her work at art fairs in the UK. Helena specialises in print-making and painting, and is based in Somerset, England.
Her work is rooted in figuration, although there is often an anthropomorphic quality to the figures she draws. She takes much inspiration from symbolism and likes to weave in cultural and religious iconography from a diverse range of sources such as medieval church carvings and 20th century artists like Egon Schiele.
Story-telling is central to why she makes art, as it is a way of transforming events from her own life and melding them with existing tales or histories to create a multi-layered image.
