Digital Art by Andy Walker
Vernazza's small harbour – the only secure landing point on the Cinque Terre coast – guards what is perhaps the quaintest, and steepest, of the five villages. Vernazza is the fourth town heading north, has no car traffic, and remains one of the truest "fishing villages" on the Italian Riviera. The picture is an intricate mosaic of thousands of individually hand-drawn triangles, each painstakingly placed, shaped and meticulously coloured. Using a stylus and tablet, using a computer as a canvas, Andy creates and shapes every triangle with precision and to select each exact hue and tone. All the artwork originates from Andy’s own photographs, used as a reference for colour and perspective.
