I am an artist and print maker living and working in South Devon where
I create unique and intricate prints that reflect the raw beauty of
nature.
Carving and sculpting in both wood and lino, I love the process of
creating marks that will begin as a suggestion of the image.
I produce small editions often inking up the block with inked paper,
cloth or other materials to give textures to the ink to create subtle
differences to each print. I layer colours, often wet ink on wet ink,
to create a richness and depth to the printed image.
I am fascinated by the shapes, colours and textures of plants and the
natural world. The plants and places inspire the design and I like to
create shapes, spaces and patterns within and around the landscape and
foliage.Small edition, reduction woodcut print, using oil based ink on somerset paper. Presented in a white wood frame.
