Energy and Colour

That feeling when you can take in a deep breath whilst standing on the edge of the land. The sound of the waves, the seabirds, the salty smell in the air. This new coast series by Claire Harmer is full of energy and colour as she harnesses her experience of the shore through abstract painting.

Anchored with the impression of a horizon, Claire builds the composition intuitively with spontaneous application of paints and inks Claire builds layers then strips them back, scratching through the surface adding flicks, drips and washes as the work takes shape.
