'Wills bold paintings are a joy of colour, light and shade with wonderful texture and depth'
Emerging English Riviera Talent
We are delighted to be hosting the winner of the Joanna Radford Prize for Excellence, William Mills, where our newly opened basement gallery will be transformed into his studio space from which he will be working during the event.
Will’s bold paintings are a joy of colour, light and shade with wonderful texture and depth, creating work described as Turneresque, he is being hailed as an emerging English Riviera Talent having won the Elisabeth Bovill Trophy earlier this year and now the Joanna Radford Award for Excellence.
Following on from a solo show held with us in February, Will’s work now sells both nationally and internationally. He describes his work as ‘rooted in something between seascapes and landscapes, evoking that feeling of gazing over something far off in the distance.’
Over the last three months Will has been producing new works to be shown for the first time during Devon Open Studios at Artizan Gallery and he will also have work at our Summer Open Exhibition at the Artizan Collective on Fleet Walk.
